Regardless having been delayed and pushed back several times, all seems to be going pretty well for "Avatar 2." Director James Cameron is taking a slow and steady pace in creating his next masterpiece, and actress Sigourney Weaver is already loving how it looks so far.

Weaver, who played Dr. Grace Augustine in the first "Avatar" film, will return to the sequel. Although her character died in the first movie, it was confirmed that she will indeed return. How Cameron will manage to pull this off remains a mystery, but it is still an exciting piece of news for fans.

Weaver is just as excited about the film as the fans are. In an interview with Variety, she revealed that the "Avatar 2" scripts she has read so far are "many times more amazing than the first one in terms of their scope." While Cameron focused on establishing the characters and the relationships in the first movie, the second film will really see every piece come into play.

The 67-year-old actress is not the only star who will have her character revived in the sophomore movie. Stephen Lang, who played the merciless Colonel Miles Quaritch in "Avatar," is also set to make a comeback.

Although the "Avatar 2" cast and crew have been relatively quiet about the developments of the movie and what it is about, Cameron hinted that the second "Avatar" film will introduce Jake and Neytiri's family. Games Spot reported that the storyline will follow the couple and their children, making "Avatar 2" more of a family saga than Omaticaya Clan's fight against human invaders.

Cameron's "Avatar" saga is preparing to make four more sequels after "Avatar 2." The acclaimed filmmaker explained that he wants all succeeding films to be released as close together as possible

Lead stars Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are reprising their role as Jake Sully and Neytiri, respectively. When viewers see them again in Pandora, Jake is already the chieftain of the clan while Neytiri is the high priestess.

"Avatar 2" will further explore the vast landscape of Pandora. Viewers will get to travel the forest of Pandora as well as its underwater and volcanic environments. The set pieces are reportedly very massive, and Cameron teases that the audience will have their mouth wide open when they see it.

"Avatar 2" will be released in theaters in December 2018.
