"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, episode 7 will be a difficult one for Caroline (Candice Accola-King) and Stefan (Paul Wesley).

After years of conquering their fears for the sake of a relationship, it seems that the power couple will finally go their separate ways. While speaking with MTV News, Accola-King said that Caroline and Stefan will try to spend as much time as they could with each other before the latter starts his new job. However, the actress believes that nothing really goes as planned in Mystic Falls.

While they are still together, Caroline and Stefan will throw a lavish Christmas Eve dinner party for their family and friends. However, the arrival of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will turn things around. Luckily, Caroline will be on a fighting mood when the series airs its new episode on Friday night. Instead of trying to fix everything, Caroline will go with the flow and join with the craziness.

Meanwhile, other than the possible separation and non-stop fighting, Accola-King also told TV Line that there will be answers to some of the biggest questions raised this season. However, once these questions are answered, more questions will also come to life, and these will determine the direction of the series until the finale.

More specifically, the actress said that more information on Matt's (Zach Roerig) dad will be unveiled. Details on what will happen to Damon and Stefan after their heated encounter will also be shown in "The Next Time I Hurt Somebody, It Could Be You."

In other news, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will go on a short hiatus and will return in January. At this time, a time jump will also be part of the show. Accola-King clarified that the time jump will not be three years, but it will still be a time jump nonetheless.

When asked what is still in store for the show, the actress said that she has not spoken with executive producer Julie Plec yet. What she knows is that some of the plans from months ago may have already changed. It is unclear if this includes the return of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev).

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, episode 7 will air on Dec. 9 at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
