If reports are anything to go by, big changes are expected to be on the way for the game.

The December 12 update is expected to add about 100 new creatures to capture in Pokemon Go.
Niantic Labs has not yet disclosed what will be included in the new update.

However, a data mine on the released version 0.49.1 of the mobile game by The Silph Road offered a glimpse of what could be coming next for players throughout the world.

The version 0.49.1 update for the game adds the ability for players to transfer multiple creatures  at the same time to Professor Willow that can be activated by pressing and holding on one of the creature that the Pokemon Go gamer wants to transfer.

Furthermore, the update introduces icons for Pokemon types to the Gym battle screens and add information on the total kms walked for Buddy Pokemon and total candy count.

According to The Silph Road, gender may be associated to Pokemon in Pokemon Go soon, with identifiers for female and male genders discovered in the code.

Also, additional code has been added in relation to shiny Pokemon that are variants of Pokemon that come in colors that are different from the normal versions of the Pokemon. These shiny creatures are different from their regular-colored versions in their appearance.

These Pokemon are sought after by collectors due to their extreme rarity.

Furthermore, The Silph Road discovered expanded codes for the customization of the avatars of Pokemon Go gamers in the game, with categories that can be customized such as the backpack, pants, shirt, hat, shoes, hair and eyes. According to reports, the customization items can be unlocked or bought.

In addition, code has been added to enable Pokemon to wear costumes.

Reports also indicate that the audio files for the upcoming 100 Pokemon species have been added to Pokemon Go. The arrival of the second generation of Pokemon to Pokemon Go is possibly on December 12.

Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, Mew and Mewtwo have not appeared in the app; however, they are present in the game's code, suggesting that the developer plans to reveal them ultimately.

Recently, Niantic Labs has had success with events tied to particular holidays such as Thanksgiving and Halloween, and therefore, the second generation launch can be tied into the several winter holidays that are coming up.
