Several TV shows may be in danger of facing the chopping block from various networks. With dismal TV ratings or lack of direction from showrunners, eight TV series may potentially get canceled come 2017.

With 2016 nearly coming to a close, several TV series have already reached the halfway point to its season run. Some series may have already closed the final chapter in its current season.

Some series have yet to receive a greenlight from network executives and showrunners on its potential season extension. However, there may be a few TV shows that may not be given another season run. Recently, TVLine identified eight TV series that might potentially get axed in the coming year.

One of the said TV shows includes Disney' hit series "Girl Meets World." Despite impressive TV ratings and a successful Season 3 run that ended on Dec. 2, Friday, neither the network nor its showrunners have yet to announce plans for a Season 4 extension.

Apart from the Disney series, three crime drama TV shows are also in danger of a potential cancellation. The NBC series "Blindspot," as well as "Secret and Lies" and "Elementary" may face the chopping block given low ratings.

The ABC series "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is also on the list given its declining viewership levels. With its costly production budget and low viewership numbers, network executives might decide to cancel the said series.

Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy's "Scream Queens," including the musical drama "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" are also included in the list of shows that might get canceled. Shown on Fox and The CW, the two TV shows are the lowest-rated series of the said networks.

Lastly, the comedy series "The Odd Couple" has a very small chance of getting a season renewal order from CBS. Already on its Season 3 run, the TV show has seen a drop in ratings over the past six weeks.

CBS has even decided against adding more episodes to the said comedy series. In an announcement made in late November, as obtained by Variety, the network shared that "The Odd Couple" Season 3 will retain its initial planned 13 episode run.

"The Odd Couple" airs every Monday on CBS. Watch a clip from the TV series below:
