Carrie Fisher surprised many when she revealed that she and "Star Wars" co-star Harrison Ford did have an affair at the time they were filming the early "Star Wars" trilogy. One of those who were surprised by Fisher's tell-all is her co-star and on screen brother Mark Hamill.

In her new memoir "The Princess Diarist," Fisher admitted that she indeed had a few "sleepovers" with Ford back in 1976 when they were filming "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope." At that time, Fisher was still 19 years old and 33-year-old Ford was married to Mary Marquardt. The affair ended when filming wrapped up. Ford is now married to actress Calista Flockhart.

Fisher and Ford managed to keep their affair a secret for almost four decades. They clearly kept things low key on set, too, since Hamill never even noticed anything going on between them.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hamill explained that he was so self-involved at the time that he probably did not notice Fisher and Ford do anything in front of him. He also admitted that he was single at the time and had his own "agenda."

Hamill said that he is glad he did not know about Fisher and Ford's relationship back then because it would have distracted him and gotten in the way of production.

Fisher said she believes Ford is not so happy with the big reveal in her book. While Fisher gave Ford a heads up about what the content of her memoir would be, she did not hear any feedback from her co-star when she gave him an advanced copy of her book.

Furthermore, Fisher explained that his on screen chemistry with Ford has Hans and Princess Leia in the "Star Wars" movie likely a product of their real-life romance.

"I think it made us more comfortable with one another," The Hollywood Reporter quoted Fisher as saying.

Up to now, Ford has yet to issue a statement regarding Fisher's revelation in "The Princess Diarist."

Carrie Fisher's memoir "The Princess Diarist" is now out in bookstores.
