"Transformers: The Last Knight" would probably go down in the books as one of the most unique movies in the entire franchise. The latest "Transformers: The Last Knight" trailer revealed so much more than just warring alien robot factions, but also piece of history that actually lived with them.

Unlike previous films that show Autobots and Decepticons blowing up densely populated cities, the "Transformers: The Last Knight" trailer gives viewers a different view. One scene indicates that it takes place during the time of Camelot. This points to the "Transformers 5" plot about going deeper into the early relationship of the Transformers and the human race.

Collider reported that "Once Upon a Time" actor Liam Garrigan has been cast to play King Arthur in the movie. There are also rumblings that Anthony Hopkins might play Merlin.

The trailer further takes viewers to a different time period and that's England during the World War II. It was previously confirmed that Winston Churchill will be portrayed in the "Transformer: The Last Knight," and he was indeed included in the trailer.

Churchill's bit in the movie is the one that stirred a major controversy for the movie early on during filming. Director Michael Bay was criticized for transforming the Blenheim Palace, Churchill's former home, into what appeared to be the Nazi headquarters for the film (there's also a rumor that Hitler may play a part in the movie). Many were angered by the decision as they saw it as offensive to the memory of Churchill.

Bay clarified with Collider that Churchill is actually portrayed as a big hero in the "Transformer: The Last Knight" and that the war hero would be "smiling" about the film.

"They haven't seen the movie, they don't know the ending, and they don't know how Churchill is a hero in this movie," Bay explained.

The "Transformer: The Last Knight" trailer also introduced new Transformers, such as Onslaught and Combaticons. Also, never absent in a "Transformer" film would be the fight scenes between the shape-shifting robots.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" will premiere in theaters on June 23, 2017.
