While the arrival of HD remastered version of "The Silver Case" to the PS4 next year is being welcomed, it already has a strong following among those who have tried it out after it became available on Steam and Playsim. The HD remastered version that arrived in October this year for Windows and then for the Mac OS X has improved graphics and resolution. This led to the game which focuses on Special Forces Unit that is investigating a string of murders in Japan, getting a positive rating on Steam.

Also, the remastered version has been localized into English which is another factor which has helped its popularity as the original was limited to Japan and was in Japanese. When "The Silver Case" arrives for the PS4 next year it will be available as both a physical and digital version and a special Edition is also going to offered, Videogamer reported .

The original version of "The Silver Case" was released in 1999 for the PSone in Japan and is considered a classic by many. Since then gamers have been intrigued by its visual novel format and the puzzles that they have to solve.

Gamers get to step into the shoes of the main protagonist who is part of the Special Forces unit that is named "Republic". The team's main objective is to track the serial killer Kamui Uehara and find out more about his identity.
