More game developers are seeing the true power of the PlayStation 4 Pro. Recently, the developer of "Ark: Survival Evolved" shared the game's performance when using Sony's latest console, which reached up to 60 frames per second.

The performance of the upgraded PlayStation 4 is comparable to a custom-built $900 gaming PC machine. This is according to game developer Studio Wildcard's lead programmer and co-founder Jeremy Stieglitz, who was recently interviewed by WCCF Tech.

"Very impressed with its performance, at a very reasonable price," Stieglitz replied when asked if he was impressed with the PlayStation 4 Pro's hardware. "We estimate it would cost at least $900 to build a similarly powerful PC, and that's if you were custom-building it with extreme cost control."

Stieglitz added that the performance of Sony's GPU is parallel to the output given by the NVIDIA 970. Adding the slight improvement with its CPU and additional memory, it became a remarkable machine.

On the regular PlayStation 4, the game performs between 30 to 55 FPS at either 680p or 720p. On the Pro version, the studio achieved a 60 FPS at 720p and 30 to 60 FPS at 1080p. The result was also affected by the settings on the game's Detailed Graphics.

The game is still a work-in-progress. Early access was granted to players on the PC and Xbox One platforms, and it was only recently that the PlayStation 4 version was released with the help of Abstraction Games. Lead programmer Wilco also mentioned that "Ark: Survival Evolved" will not be able to utilize the 4K and HDR features that the PlayStation 4 Pro can offer, but gamers will definitely experience an improved performance when using it, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

Studio Wildcard has just recently released a game patch for early-access gamers on the PlayStation 4 and includes the 1080p display option for the console's Pro version. The update is around 375 MB and also includes a hard crash issue fix.

"Ark: Survival Evolved" is slated to be officially released sometime this month but remains unclear about its exact date. Watch this video for more information about the game:
