They have been best friends for over six years, having first met in 2010 on the SBS variety show "Running Man." Even though Song Joong Ki left the show 10 months later, he remained best pals with Lee.

They make cameo appearances in each other's show

Lee showed his support for Song's comeback by making a cameo appearance in "Descendants of the Sun," which was the latter's first drama series after getting discharged from the military.

When Song asked Lee if he could appear on the show, the latter immediately agreed without reading the script. This time, the former is the one doing the latter a favor by appearing in his upcoming sitcom "The Sound of Your Heart."

Lee Kwang Soo was Song Joong Ki's proxy at his brother's wedding

When Song was in the military, he could not attend his brother's wedding. Thus, Lee took the initiative to represent the "Nice Guy" actor, wherein he went to the actor's house in Daejeon and acted like the family's second son. When the "Descendants of the Sun" actor saw a video from the wedding, he was moved to tears by what Lee had done for him, Soompi reported.

During a fan meeting in Beijing, Song was asked to choose on essential thing he would bring on a trip. His answer? Kwang Soo. Although he jokingly said that he would need someone to pay for the food, he explained that Lee is a very close friend of his and he would want to go on a trip with him if they had the time, Inquirer reported.

Song also said that Lee helps him use social networking apps such as Weibo and Intagram.
