"12 Monkeys" began production for Season 3 this past October and an exclusive trailer was shown during the New York Comic-Con. While the series will see the return of many familiar faces it has also been confirmed that two stars are joining the show.

Hannah Waddingham has been added to the show to portray the character Magdalena and Faran Tahir will be playing Mallick, the Nerdist reported. This comes just a few months after it was confirmed Christopher Lloyd of "Back to the Future" fame and "Battlestar Galactica" star James Callis were also appearing in Season 3.

Waddingham is primarily known for portraying Septa Unella in "Game of Thrones," the nun that shouted "shame" as Queen Mother Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) walked from the Sept of Baelor back to the Red Keep. She also had minor roles in the films "Les Miserables" and "Into the Woods."

Tahir is best known for playing Captain Nemo in the "Once Upon a Time" series and also portrayed the terrorist Raza in "Iron Man." He also appeared as Captain Robau in the 2009 "Star Trek" reboot and had roles in "24," "The Blacklist," "American Crime" and the upcoming "Prison Break" revival.

According to Den of Geek, Waddingham's Magdalena is described as "a member of an apocalyptic cult charged with protecting the Witness." Season 2 introduced the identity of the Witness, a person who later became the leader of the Army of the 12 Monkeys and turned out to be the son of Cole (Aaron Standford) and Cassie (Amanda Schull).

Mallick is described as an imposing character and a devout enforcer of the Army of the 12 Monkeys. He is also a resident of Titan. Unfortunately, his origins and his main goals remain a mystery.

At this point, neither Waddingham nor Tahir has been sighted in the Season 3 trailer showcased during the New York ComicCon. The network has also yet to reveal how their characters will look.

"12 Monkeys" Season 3 will premiere on SyFy in 2017.
