Microsoft in October announced that a new update would be arriving for Windows 10, and dubbed it "Creators", and now more information about its features and release date has arrived.

Window's upcoming Creators update has been causing people to sit up and take notice. Announced earlier this year in October the update was described as something that would showcase the creativity of everyday users. The update will make Windows 10 a space where users could create, play and share, Microsoft stated on its blog.

However, when it comes to the release date of the Creators update, Microsoft did not provide much information. So far the company has stated that the update will be available sometime in the spring of next year. Since the release window is in the spring, many analysts now believe that it will arrive sometime in March 2017.

Focus is also shifting to the new features that will be arriving with the Creators update. Microsoft recently revealed that Cortana support will be added to IoT devices that have screens, ZDNET reported. This particular feature will allow users to turn on devices like refrigerators and others in a room by using Cortana. The virtual assistant will be able to recognize the user's voice even if they are standing several feet away and the room is filled with ambient noise.

However, for Cortana to work devices will have to run Windows 10 IoT Core which will be arriving with Creators update. As for the other improvements that are coming with the Windows 10 creators update they include the ability to create 3D graphics while working in Paint.

With Cortana getting a lot more attention from Microsoft in the Creators update, there are indications that the virtual assistant could become more popular. Right now Cortana is not as popular as Siri from Apple and the voice assistant from Google as they are installed on various mobile devices and users have quick access to them.

Another big change in the Creators update is that it will force Microsoft Edge to not play Flash content by default. This means that users will have to manually run the Adobe Flash player. Finally in terms of pricing of the Creators update, it is expected to be free for those who have updated to Windows 10.
