Team 17, the creators of the "Worms" franchise, recently released "Lethal VR" for the HTC Vive via Steam this past November. It has now been confirmed that the game is also launching for the Playstation VR this coming Dec. 20.

When the game was first unveiled the developers did confirm it was coming for the PS VR although a specific date was not mentioned. At the time, it was only stated that a port for the Playstation VR system was in the works and that it would launch before the end of the year.

The game is labelled as a pure first-person shooting game and is designed to be very similar to the arcade shooting games that were popular in the 1990s to the early 2000s. According to VR Focus, the game puts an emphasis on quick player reactions and accurate aiming. This will resemble games such as the "Time Crisis" and "Virtua Cop."

It is also stated that the game does not simply rely on a wide variety of guns as there are also sections where the player must use throwing knives. This mechanic will require accurate use of the HTC Vive and Playstation VR's motion controls.

According to Gamasutra, the game is comprised of over 30 different missions. The variety of weapons also includes dual handguns, revolvers, the aforementioned throwing knives and even a deadly hat. Local leaderboards are included to keep track of high scores and there are 14 trophies to unlock.

"Lethal VR" will be available for $14.99 on the Playstation Store starting Dec. 20 and there will be a 20 percent launch discount which is only available for a limited period. Additional assets for the game can also be downloaded.

No plans for further ports for other VR headsets have yet been announced. As of the time of writing it is only set to be available for the HTC Vive and Playstation VR.
