Back in Season 6 she murdered the Tyrells and the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) by blowing the Sept of Baelor with wildfire. Her son, King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman), also committed suicide due to these actions.

"I don't play her as a villain," she told Mashable when asked if there was still some good in Cersei. "I don't set out to do that consciously, I just play a woman who is a survivor and will do exactly what a man would do - which is, you know, murder somebody when you're in a war. Maybe just not directly."

The actress further explained that Cersei only does what she perceives to be the necessary steps to keep her where she wants to be, which is in a position of power. This proved true for the finale as all the deaths meant Cersei was once again crowned as the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms.

When asked if she thought Cersei would try to redeem herself in Season 7 the actress stated she wouldn't. By trying to redeem herself Headey stated Cersei would be ruining her own character and the meaning of everything she had committed in the past.

It is also reportedly possible that Cersei will die in Season 7 given that she won't be making amends with all her enemies and the people she had angered, including Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Cersei won't go down without a fight and she has proven she can still fight back, Games Radar reported.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is scheduled to premiere in Summer 2017. The season will have only 8 episodes and it will be followed by Season 8 in 2018, concluding the highly acclaimed series.
