All six of the original 8-Bit "Mega Man" games from the NES era are going to be released for both the iOS and Android platforms. They will launch in January next year and will be altered for the new platform they are launching on.

Only the first six games from the classic "Mega Man" games are included, Eurogamer reported. This means "Mega Man 7" and "Mega Man 8" are not included. Even the retro-styled "Mega Man 9" and "Mega Man 10" are not included in the mobile re-release despite being in the same style as the original six.

The games are not going to be exactly the same as their NES originals although Capcom did state they are not going to be based entirely on the "Mega Man Legacy Collection" versions either. The latter included HD graphics, behind-the-scenes extras, online leaderboards and challenges.

It is further stated that Capcom has yet to confirm if the bonus content from the "Legacy Collection" will be included with the mobile versions. Capcom has also to announce if the graphics will be tweaked and updated instead of merely updating the NES originals.

The games will each sell for $1.99 on the App Store and Google Play Store. They will also be identified with the term "Mobile" attached to their titles such as "Mega Man 2 Mobile." According to Polygon, none of the six mobile games will have microtransactions.

Capcom Mobile also reportedly stated that the games will be altered for the platform. The press release states that each game will be "optimized for the mobile devices with adjustments to game speed." It was also confirmed that the games will use touchscreen controls.

This is not the first time Capcom attempted to launch "Mega Man" games on mobile devices. Back in 1999 an iOS port of "Mega Man 2" was launched but was poorly received due to lackluster controls. A port of "Mega Man X" was released in 2011 for iOS. It was initially given low reviews due to its inclusion of microtransactions but has now garnered a 4.5-star rating after several updates and changes.
