Time also reported that studies have found that eating breakfast can help keep increase your metabolism, and when you eat between 30 to 60 minutes after waking up, you are taking advantage of your body's full potential to burn fats and calories.

"Your body is like a very needy car-it requires fuel first thing in the morning, and again every four to six hours after," says Jessica Crandall, R.D.N., spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Crandall wants to point out how important it is to load up protein and fiber in the morning so you do not leave yourself starving later in the day and end up making bad eating choices during lunch and dinner.

Crandall warns though that it is still important to opt for the healthy choices when you eat breakfast because if you load yourself up with too much carbohydrates, your blood sugar will go up and down and that will make you feel hungry about two hours later.

As Crandall and other diet experts would recommend, the best food you should loading yourself up in the morning are proteins and fiber. A breakfast rich in protein like eggs and yogurt can ward off feeling of hunger as you go through your day. This will result in making you eat less and eventually losing weight. There was one study that suggests how women who ate eggs during breakfast lost twice as much weight compared to those who chose bagels.

On the other hand, fiber can make you feel full longer because it slows down the digestive process. This way, you will not easily feel like snacking a lot in between your regular meals.
