True to his promise, Luca Todesco achieved what Team Pangu failed to do - put together a working jailbreak that is based on iOS 10 and version 10.1.1 of Apple's mobile operating system. The dev said the JB tool is currently in beta build with the possibility of the finalized edition coming out soon. Planning to jump in? Read this first.

To be clear, Todesco said his iOS 10 jailbreak called Yalu has yet to reach the final form. According to iDownloadBlog.com, the jailbreak solution can only be used on the iPhone 7 series, the 6S series and the iPad Pro. Specifically, the tool is designed for devices that can run on iOS 10-10.1.1 but for the iDevices not mentioned above, it will take a while for them to get a taste of Yalu.

And Cydia will not automatically work with Yalu in the usual process as iDB said that for Saurik's tool - the repository of jailbreak tweaks and apps - to work jailbreak fans will need the Cydia Impactor. And when Cydia is installed, only a handful of tweaks currently work with the Todesco jailbreak.

To be fair, Todesco has indicated that Yalu in its rough and unstable form is not recommended for the average jailbreak users. The dev said that for the majority of the jailbreak community, it would be wise to wait out for the completed version.

Now when the finalized Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak is finally out, the chance is high that like Pangu's iOS 9.2-9.3.3 jailbreak it will be a semi-tethered solution. Per iDB, "Luca has also confirmed that the jailbreak is not untethered, as he has little interest in it, and perhaps also due to its difficulty."

So jailbreak fans need to manage their expectations on this note - that they will have to re-jailbreak each time a jailbroken iPhone or iPad reboots.

Considering all these limitations the question begs, "Is it worth the trouble to jailbreak with Luca Todesco's Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak now?" The answer is no if one wanted to be clear of the attached inconveniences with the JB tool for now.

But if one is adventurous enough, the following, according to WCCFTech, are the undeniable benefits: Liberation of an iPhone or iPad from Apple's control, the ability to tweak an iOS device's settings to one's liking and possibly gaining "better performance and battery life compared to stock iOS."

And one more thing, Todesco is of the opinion that his Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak is unlikely to see a sequel for a stretch of time, somehow making a solid case for jailbreak fans to take the plunge once the finalized version is out.
