The Billboard Hot 100 is the place where most people go to get their fix of what's hot when it comes to pop music. Mostly sales and airplay on the radio and streaming services dictate which songs make into the list, while the top 10 spots are highly coveted by both the fans and the artists themselves alike.

The top 10 spots on the Hot 100 are a good indicator of what songs people are listening to at the moment. It comes as no surprise that the most popular artists of 2016 have held somewhat of a monopoly over these for the past couple of weeks. Some of this year's biggest hit makers even get their latest singles to debut in these top 10 spots.

Big Debuts for the Week of Dec. 31, 2016

The Hot 100 list for next week and there have definitely been a lot of movers and shakers on it. Zayn Malik and Taylor Swifts recent collaboration for the "Fifty Shades Darker" soundtrack - "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" - has edged out J. Cole to debut at number 6. Albeit the release of all these big songs from notable artists, still none of them have been able to dethrone Rae Sremmurd who still keep the top spot after 6 weeks with the song "Black Beatles," according to Billboard.

J. Cole Makes History

Rapper J. Cole has scored his first ever Hot 100 top 10 song with the track "Déjà Vu," as it debuted in the number 7 spot. What's impressive is that every song from J. Cole's latest album "4 Your Eyez Only" has debuted in a Billboard Hot 100 spot for this week, according to the same website.

The Rest of the Best

Other songs on this exclusive list include The Weeknd and Daft Punk's "Starboy" at number 2, The Chainsmokers and Halsey's "Closer" at number 3, Bruno Mars' "24K Magic" at number 4, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj's "Side to Side" at number 5, Zay Hilfigerrr & Zayion McCall's "Juju on That Beat (TZ Anthem)" at number 8, Justin Bieber and DJ Snake's "Let Me Love You" at number 9, and rounding off the top 10 is Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar with "Don't Wanna Know."
