Also, it is worth noting that the Fitbit Charge 2 now has "stocking stuffers" which consists of more intuitive interval notifications, as well as longer-lasting workout recaps, smarter notifications, and an "unknown" caller ID display support. Also, the way messages are displayed are changed, since it will now be shown before the sender's name.

The changes done for the FitBit Charge 2 are welcome improvements, despite the fact that the updates are pretty common sense-oriented, Yahoo! News reported. Still, the update is expected to make the all-day fitness tracker even better.

In order to update the Charge 2 and avail of the new features, the user must first open their smartphone's Fitbit app. The Account tab at the bottom of the screen should be pressed. After that, the Charge 2 must be selected in the device listing on the top of the page. From there on, the user only needs to follow the instructions for the Charge 2's firmware update until it is finished.

Meanwhile, the Fitbit company recently acquired the smartwatch manufacturer Pebble. The latter was bought for an estimated price of $40 million, which netted them Pebble's smartwatch OS and apps, as well as software engineers and testers.

The company ensures that all the elements will continue to work the way it is intended even by next year and possibly even in 2018. The elements include the firmware, apps, app store, Timeline API's and more.
