It was revealed about half a year ago that the Manga turned dark fantasy anime - "Tokyo Ghoul" will be having a live action featurette in 2017. As of late, the latest tease has been boasted just recently in the form of the film's movie poster showing who will portray the part of the anime series' protagonist - Ken Kaneki.

The new visual features Japanese actor Masataka Kubota whose face is half-covered with the mask that he will be wearing in the upcoming film.

Masanori Morikawa helmed the costume design and it may well seem that the appearance of the characters in the movie will remain faithful to the ones depicted on both Manga and anime adaptations as he was quoted that he had worked with the film's director, Kentaro Hagiwara in providing the costumes additional style without compromising its original look, Manga Tokyo noted.

Hagiwara, on the other hand, commended Morikawa's work and added that both of them were very meticulous with the design making it even more realistic. The director went on saying that the grinning eye patched mask alongside its other body accessories fit Kubota perfectly.

In the interim, the third season of "Tokyo Ghoul's" anime adaptation is believed to be released next year. The upcoming installment of the show will feature Ken Kaneki assuming a different persona after he was almost killed by Kishou Arima who is the former "One-eyed King" before Ken, News Everyday quoted. Reports suggest that he will be taking on the role of a Commission of Counter Ghoul operative and carries the moniker, Haise Sasaki. The plot gets more complicated as it was also mentioned that his memory will be erased prior to joining the ghoul-tracking organization.

Below is the English-dubbed trailer for "Tokyo Ghoul" season 1.
