"This is a brand that has enormous goodwill all over the world," STX Motion Group Chairman Adam Fogelson said in a statement obtained by Variety"Mila, Kristen and Kathryn are excited to re-team, and we will move forward with 'A Bad Moms Christmas' on a similar time table and in much the same way in which we produced the original."

"Bad Moms" was produced for $20 million and managed to earn over $180 million worldwide, becoming the first STX Entertainment film to earn over $100 million domestically. The film also managed to garner a fresh rating of 59 percent from critics and a 66 percent rating from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The first film focused on the lives of three over-stressed mothers who decide to take matters into their own hands instead of letting their employers and husbands taking advantage of them. The second film is expected to follow this format but will now be set around the Christmas season.

STX Entertainment has scheduled a spin-off film titled "Bad Dads" to be released by July 14, 2017, Entertainment Weekly has learned. The official cast members, scriptwriters and directors for the spin-off have yet to be confirmed.

"A Bad Moms Christmas" will release on Nov. 3, 2017. It will be competing against Disney and Marvel's "Thor: Ragnarok," which stars Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo.
