Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are glad that their latest release "Passengers" will not have a sequel. The actors are seemingly happy with how the film has ended and do not want to jump into another sequel from the ending.
Morten Tyldum directed sci-fi movie features Pratt as Jim, who is one of 5,000 passengers hibernating aboard a spacecraft that is on a 120-year journey from Earth to a colony planet. When a malfunction causes him to wake up 90 years early, he becomes obsessed with another hibernating passenger, Aurora Lane, played by Lawrence, and eventually decides to wake her up.
Speaking during an interview, Lawrence explained that her character in the recent movie has made her feel very special. The actress is otherwise known for playing large roles in movie sagas after taking on the lead of Katniss Everdeen in the "Hunger Games" franchise.
"It's really rare to find original content in a studio movie, that doesn't have a proven audience -- that has such a big budget," the 26-year-old actress told Cinema Blend. "So it still feels weird that we just kind of closed the case on it."
Following up, Pratt expressed that it is very crucial not to have a sequel to the film "Passengers." He revealed to the above-mentioned publication that he had conversations with Tyldum about making sure the ending remained the same and would not be modified to create the possibilities of sequels. The actor is set to embark on his own franchise adventure as Star-Lord in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movies.
Meanwhile, Lawrence showed her soft side when she visited the Norton Children's Hospital to spread some holiday cheer. She has made the visit on Christmas eve. The Oscar-winning actress, who is a Louisville native, has been visiting the hospital during Christmas time since 2013.
"My family and I have met so many wonderful children on our visits to the hospital," the actress told Courier-Journal at the time. "Their strength and courage is inspiring."
