"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is slowly inching its way towards its launch date, along with the March release of the Nintendo Switch. In preparation for the game's upcoming release, Nintendo has released another sneak peek photo of the game in action.

The new still was posted on the Nintendo Facebook page and showcases Link fighting a Guardian inside one of the game's numerous temples. Link is shown posing in either a defence stance or is about to deflect an incoming attack.

Unfortunately, the exact location this shot was taken in is still unknown. Details are obscured due to the angle the image was taken in but according to Dual Shockers it appears the Guardian is preparing to fire projectiles at Link.

Widespread rumors also suggest that the temple and the Guardian indicate the game is set in the same split timeline of "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess." This is the timeline created when Child Link is successful in "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" and the Hero of Time grows into an adult during a time of peace.

Guardians such as the one in the image and the numerous temples will be constant obstacles impeding players from completing the game. However, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is one of the most open-world games in the series and can be completed immediately if the player heads straight to the final dungeon area, bypassing areas such as the one in the photo entirely.

This is also not the only image Nintendo has shared over the past few weeks. Over time the developers have also released concept art of Link celebrating the holidays and official in-game shots of Link warming by a campfire and eating his meals, Game Spot reported.

All of these activities can be done in game and will be required since the title now has an element of survival built into it. Link now has to cook meals and can use items like chopped wood to make shields or to light as torches.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will release for the Wii U and Switch in 2017. The official trailer can be viewed below:
