Yoshida said that he played the online video game again and he enjoyed going around getting new mounts, trying to collect more anima weapons, and talking to his friends. He revealed that playing it in a leisurely manner is one of his little pleasures in life.

The game director recalled what happened last year in the video game, and the different achievements they have accomplished. He said that they have finished the Dragonsong War story that started on the Heavensward expansion, and also how they created new experiences like the deep dungeon. He felt that last year was one of the years where they were able to take on new challenges, while continuing to provide a good experience for the players.

The Fan Festival in Las Vegas announced the upcoming Stormblood expansion, Yoshida said. The game company also revealed more details at the Tokyo event. He pointed out that by delivering another major expansion is a sign that the video game has become stable and prosperous, which will also give them more time and resources they need to bring in more new adventures.

At this point, they are now almost finished in polishing the new additions that will be added in the Far Edge of Fate part 1 and part 2 patches. They are now clearing up the bugs and fixing a few mistakes before they launch the new patch.

Yoshida teased an image that revealed a poem, which was from an Ancient Eastern proverb. It may lead to new adventures and encounters for this year.

In other "Final Fantasy" related news, director Hajime Tabata wrote a New Year message on the official blog of Square Enix. He thanked the fans who have supported them throughout the years and he has decided that this year will be a year of giving back to everyone.
