Asus will begin its launch event for CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 on Jan. 4. It has confirmed that a new device powered by the most powerful may get announced at CES 2017.

The Taiwanese company had teased in December 2016 that it will be launching a smartphone at CES 2017. And now an official tweet form the company suggest that its smartphone will be powered by the world's best processor, Phone Arena reported.

Since Asus has spoken about "world's best processor' for its upcoming smartphone, rumors are rife that the device will be running on Snapdragon 835 chipset. It is also expected to arrive with dual cameras on its rear panel.

Qualcomm's new chipset, the Snapdragon 835 is smaller in size compared to Snapdragon 821 and 820 chipsets that have powered by 2016 flagships. The SD 835 chipset is expected to consume less power and deliver best performance.

The Snapdragon 835 is so powerful that it can run full versions of Windows 10 without any hiccups. Hence, Microsoft has confirmed that it will be launching Snapdragon 835 powered notebooks in 2017.

It is interesting to note that Qualcomm is also poised to officially announce its Snapdragon 835 chipset at the upcoming CES 2017 event. Its Quick Charge 4.0 technology can charge a device up to 50 percent with only 15 minutes of charging.

Is the company prepping up to launch Asus ZenFone 4 flagship smartphone? As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the Asus smartphones that will get unveiled at CES 2017.

Asus is also pegged to announced ZenFone AR, a Project Tango device, 9 to 5 Google reported. Moreover, an Asus smartphone was spotted with midrange specs. However, 'world's best processor' does hint that an Asus flagship smartphone may get unveiled at the upcoming tech trade show.
