A new smartphone from Asus bearing serial no. X00GD has passed TENAA certification in China. According to TENAA listing, the device is said to come loaded with Nougat 7.0 update and 4,850 mAh battery.

The device will be coming with a 5.2-inch screen supporting an HD resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. A 1.5 GHz octa-core processor is expected to power the smartphone. The name of the chipset is not known.

The mysterious Asus device is likely to come in two variants. It will carry 2 GB of RAM with 16 GB internal storage. The other variant will sport either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and have internal storage of 32 GB or 64 GB. It will also provide support for expandable storage via microSD card.

It is pegged to sport 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8-megapixel front facing camera for shooting selfies. It is said to come packed with 4,850mAh battery, Phone Arena reported by citing TENAA site as source. As mentioned earlier, the device will be running on Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box. It will be the first Asus phone to run latest NougatOS.

The phone measures 8.85mm in thickness and weighs 169 grams. Its thickness is more as the phone as it includes a larger battery. It will feature a fingerprint scanner under the home button. It connectivity options such as USB Type-C port and 3.5 mm audio jack.

The smartphone is expected to be available in three color variants of Black, Luxury Gold and Rose Gold. The Taiwanese company is likely to announce this mysterious smartphone during CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 or at MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 event in February, Softpedia reported.

Qualcomm has apparently revealed through a Jan. 4 dated blog post that Asus ZenFone AR will be announced at CES 2017. The blog post has been taken down. It will be the second Google Tango AR enabled smartphone that will also carry support for Daydream VR. The U.S. based chip makers has also revealed that the Snapdragon 820 chipset will be powering the ZenFone AR.
