Microsoft Surface Book has now been slashed by $150 on the official Microsoft Store. It indicates that the company may be getting ready to launch its successor.

The Surface Book 2-in-1 notebook from Microsoft was announced in October 2015. It comes in multiple storage choices of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB along with 8 GB and 16 GB RAM options.

Now, two variants of Surface Book is now available with a discount of $150. The offer that has just begun will come to an end on Jan. 21, GSM Arena reported.

The 128 GB Surface Book that features Intel Core i5 processor and 8 GB of RAM usually sells for $1,499. However, with the new discount, it is now available for $1,349 on Microsoft Store.

The 256 GB Surface Book that is powered by Intel Core i5 CPU and 8 GB of RAM along with discrete GPU has a regular pricing of $1,899. However, it is now selling for $1,749 after a price cut of $150

Rumors are rife that the Redmond based company is working on Surface Book 2. Its arrival seems to be drawing as it has been over an year since the launch of the original Surface Book. .

At the ongoing CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017 event, Intel has announced 7th generation Intel Kaby Lake processors that will be powering performance laptops and desktops that will arrive in the near future. Recent rumors have been claiming that the Surface Book 2 will be powered by Intel Kaby Lake processor. Now that the chip giant has officially unveiled the next generation processors, the Surface Book 2 release date seems to be imminent.

The Surface Book 2 is expected to come with 4K resolution 13.5-inch display. Since 4K resolution can consume more power, it is likely that the Surface Book 2 will arrive with a larger battery. With Intel Kaby Lake onboard, it is expected to come with native support for USB Type-C.

As far as the design of the Surface Book 2 is concerned, the 2-in-1 device is expected to arrive with a new hinge system to resolve the gap issues of the current hinge system on original model. The Surface Book 2 is expected get announced in March 2017.
