Several male South Korean celebrities will be discharged from the military this 2017, and fans are looking forward to their highly-awaited comebacks. As these celebs prepare to complete their two-year mandatory military service, their respective agencies are already planning their activities for the year ahead.
Kim Hyun Joong
The "Boys Over Flowers" actor will return from the military in February. Kim Hyun Joong enlisted in March 2015 after a lengthy legal battle with his ex-girlfriend who alleged him of physical abuse.
The trial for the case will resume in January 2017. As per allkpop, Kim Hyun Joong won the case in the lower courts, subsequently dismissing all charges against the singer-actor and order Ms. Choi to pay damages. Ms. Choi has submitted her appeal to the lower court's decision.
Yunho and Changmin
TVXQ's Yunho will complete his military service in April. Yunho has been recognized for his hard work as a soldier, having been awarded the status of a special class soldier. Yunho enlisted in July 21, 2015.
Yunho's TVXQ group mate Changmin will return to civilian life in August. His discharge marks the beginning of comeback activities for TVXQ. SM Entertainment has teased a big year for its male idol groups, especially since Super Junior is also gearing up to make a comeback when its members return from the military.
Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon and Ryeowook
Shindong and Sungmin were discharged from the military in December. Fans of Super Junior are expecting a grand comeback from the group this year as a complete group. Eunhyuk and Donghae are returning from the military sometime in August. According to Soompi, Donghae enlisted as a conscripted policeman while Eunhyuk has been serving in the military band.
Siwon is scheduled to complete his military service in August and Ryeowook is expected to be discharged later this year.
Yoochun
Yoochun has been serving as a public service worker in Gangnam and will complete his mandatory military service in August. No schedule of activities has been announced for JYJ. Although Jaejoong has return from the military, Junsu is scheduled to enlist in February.
Lee Seung Gi
A lot of Lee Seung Gi's fans are looking forward to his return from the military. He will be discharged in October and fans are already excited to see his comeback drama series. He is currently serving in the Special Welfare Command as a special forces soldier.
