Lenovo has released its new product lines on the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 happening in Las Vegas. From multimedia controller to Legion laptops, the company surely surprised spectators with its massive hardware and software offerings this year. Likewise, Lenovo unveiled its 2017 upgraded versions of the ThinkPad X1 laptops, including 2017 ThinkPad X1 Carbon, ThinkPad X1 Yoga, and ThinkPad X1 Tablet.
According to The Mobile Indian, the ThinkPad X1 series was earlier introduced by Lenovo during the CES 2016. Now, the company has updated the family with the 2017 lineup of ThinkPad. As collected from the event, Lenovo is set to modernize its heavy-duty ThinkPad laptops while falling on its "ultraportable" suite.
While the ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop features a similar look like its predecessors, the laptop provides an improved battery, processor and new connectivity ports. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon will be transfigured into a smaller footprint, fitting its 14-inch IPS display into a compact 13-inch laptop form-factor. This paved for the laptop's moniker as the "lightest 14-inch business notebook."
Weighing just 2.5 pounds, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon laptop runs on the latest seventh-generation Intel Core i7 processor, while boasting an improved Microsoft Precision Touchpad embedded with physical buttons and a TrackPoint.
For its connectivity options, the laptop is equipped with Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB-A ports and an HDMI port. It also sports Qualcomm's Snapdragon X7 LTE-A wireless WAN with up to three times faster LTE speeds.
On another note, Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Yoga has been also updated with new features, with its security suite and ports the same with X1 Carbon, Indian Express reported. An additional accessory for the laptop, the ThinkPad Pen Pro (2017), has been tweaked in order to include a new elastomer tip. The redesigned rechargeable pen comes alongside an improved "rise and fall" keyboard just like its predecessor.
Outside, the laptop sports a 14-inch OLED screen that operates good color reproductions and deep blacks. In its internal chassis, it packs Intel Core processors and offers a battery life of 10.5 hours for the OLED model, or 16 hours for the non-OLED variant.
Lastly, the ThinkPad X1 tablet is expanded into a 2-in-1 tablet configuration that offers port expansion and up to 5 hours of additional battery life. It includes an additional module for an integrated projector option that promotes productivity from creation to presentation. Meanwhile, the rest of the specs are similar to the 2016 variant of X1 Tablet.
The pricing and availability of the Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are also announced on the CES event. Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad X1 Yoga is set on February 2017 release. The devices are pegged at a price starting on $1,349 (Rs 92,222 approx) and $1,499 (Rs 1,02,476 approx) respectively. ThinkPad X1 Tablet will be available from March 2017, at a starting a price of $949 (Rs 64,876 approx).
