Kevin Owens had a relatively easy and quick accent from NXT to the main roster. He is currently the longest-reigning WWE Universal Champion in history. However, the latest rumors imply that he might be sucking up to top WWE officials to be in the position he is in.

Owens signed with the WWE in August 2014 and made his NXT debut in December of that year. In two months, he became the NXT champion and held the title for five months. He also debuted on the main roster during his title reign and entered a feud with John Cena.

KO defeated Cena cleanly via pinfall at Elimination Chamber 2015 and went on to face him two more times but in a losing effort. He then entered into a feud with Cesaro before winning the Intercontinental championship at Night of Champions.

The 32-year-old is already a two-time IC champion and the current Universal title holder. Many fans believe that he is sucking up to management that is why he is being given a push. He is also a noted "Triple H Guy" which gives him an advantage over other superstars.

However, Owens is not really sucking up to top officials as his work ethic and consistency is making him look good, per Pro Wrestling Unlimited. He is also being vocal backstage and he is not afraid to speak his mind.

That trait is enough to get him some heat but at times, WWE management loves guys who have the balls to speak what is good the company. Owens reportedly has power over his creative direction because officials like his ideas.

For example, the recent segment on Monday Night Raw wherein "The Kevin Owens Show" made its debut directly came from Owens. All of the details had a touch of Owens and the WWE officials liked it very much.

The segment featured a giant "Kevin Owens Show" sign that is over a man's head, per WWE.com. There were also cheap lawn seats just for the guest, who turned out to be Goldberg. Due to all of Owens' hard work and ideas, he is getting a lot of favors from WWE officials.

Even though it is rumored that Owens will lose the Universal championship at the Royal Rumble to Roman Reigns, his standing in the company is really good. He is one of the top superstars backstage and Vince McMahon is really high on him.

Fans should expect more from Owens this year in what could be the turning point of the WWE, in terms of the top stars in the company. However, it should be noted that these are just purely speculative at the moment and nothing has been confirmed. For more WWE news, rumors and updates, just follow me on Twitter @johnnyrundown.
