Even though "Descendants of the Sun" aired its last season in April 2016, the lead couple, Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo rumors refuse to die down. Despite speculation, the so-called couple continues to deny being anything more than co-stars and friends.

However, according to recent speculations, the couple's appearance together at 2016 KBS Drama Awards Dec 31 grabbed attention immediately as they walked the red-carpet together, looking more in love than ever. In fact, their physical closeness to each other triggered the rumors that the couple may even have already been married in a secret wedding.

A few months back, reports about couple's secret marriage emerged. However, these reports were immediately busted by Joong Ki's agency, Blossom Entertainment. They quickly released an official statement that the two co-stars are not married, but did not add anything about their alleged romance.

Hye Kyo and Joong Ki were seen stealing sweet glances at each other during the awards night. They were even spotted warming up to each other at the said event. According to Soompi, Hye Kyo was seen comforting the "Battleship Island" star who got emotional during Park Bo Gum's acceptance speech as he thanked his friend for his support and guidance.

The "Descendants of the Sun" lead couple also shared the stage that night when they accepted the honorable Daesang Award for their stellar performance in the show. Joong Ki gave a shout out to his buddy Bo Gum, who earlier left him teary eyed.

Meanwhile, according to a recent survey conducted by Panel Marketing Interactive, most local fans want their favorite on-screen couple to get engaged for real, if they are not already married. The famous "DOTS" couple gained 16.4% vote from 2000 voters aged above 20 yrs. The survey indicated that more women than men wanted to see the on-screen couples dating in real life, Yonhap News reported.
