Here's a fearless forecast of the box office newsmakers in 2017, listed in no particular order.

"Justice League"

To rival Marvel's "Avengers" franchise, DC Comics will soon release "Justice League"-the highly awaited superhero movie that will bring together Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming"

There have been several other "Spider-Man" movies before this one, and each movie has proven that viewers never get tired of the web-slinging superhero. Tom Holland will star as the new Spidey. Given how positive viewers' reactions to Spider-Man's appearance in "Captain America: Civil War" were, fans are expected to flock to cinemas for his big solo debut.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"

The first "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie is one of the most successful films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie grossed $773 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing film in the MCU that did not feature Iron Man. According to Screen Rant, the last four Marvel films grossed over $1 billion worldwide, and it is expected that "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will achieve the same feat.

"Wonder Woman"

Gal Gadot's first solo outing as Wonder Woman is probably one of the most hyped up movies in the DCEU stable at this moment. The character and the actress have been receiving a lot of buzz ever since Wonder Woman appeared in "Batman v. Superman." Wonder Woman's participation in "Batman v. Superman" is regarded by many as possibly the best moment in the entire movie. If that's not any indication that "Wonder Woman" will be a sure fire hit, we don't know what is.

"Star Wars Episode VIII"

It's a no-brainer: all movies related to "Star Wars" will be a hit. Given the success of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One," it is expected that "Star Wars: Episode VIII" will be one of the highest grossing films of 2017. According to Forbes, "Rogue One" has reached the $450 million mark in just 20 days of its release.
