Toshiba's Client Solutions Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, revealed its latest iteration on its Portege portfolio, the 2-in-1 Portege X20W, which features a 360 degree hinge that allows different viewing options and a hefty 16-hour battery life.

The premium 2-in-1 convertible PC, Portege X20 W, is announced at the latest CES 2017 event, which promises a more powerful, performance-centric notebook and a first choice for mobile professionals, educators and students with its hefty battery life.

Vice president of marketing and product development of Client Solutions Division, Carl Pinto, emphasize on how the Portege X20 W revolutionizes the future of laptop technology in different aspects such as performance and usability.

"In the Portégé X20W, we developed a professional grade 2-in-1 convertible PC eliminating the need to choose between a laptop, a tablet or even a notepad," Pinto said. He followed: "From the perspective of performance, mobility, battery life and usability, the Portégé X20W epitomizes what the future of mobile computing will look like for the foreseeable future."

Measuring 15.4mm thin and weighing less than 2.5 pounds, the laptop features a 360-degree hinge that lets users take advantage of different options for viewing, including Tablet mode, Laptop mode, Tabletop, Audience and Presentation mode, Business Wire reported.

Specs-wise, the device sports the Windows 10 Pro while its internal chassis is powered by the seventh generation Intel Core processor, NDTV reported. Its display features a 12.5 inch full HD multi-touch wide angle display with 1920x1080 resolution, coupled with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. No RAM details have been specified yet on its latest reveal.

In addition, Portege X20 W is designed with two IR cameras that support Windows Hello facial recognition, along with other enterprise-level security with the adoption of fingerprint reader and Trusted Platform Module technologies.

For connectivity options, Toshiba offers a Thunderbolt 3 port, USB 3.0 port, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm jack for audio. The Portege X20W even comes with a TruPen that is supported with Wacom Feel technology, which can detect 2,048 levels of pressure on tasks such as drawing on webpages in Microsoft Edge and using Windows Ink.

The company furthered that the laptop's compatibility with two advanced docking solutions, the Toshiba WiGig Dock and Toshiba Thunderbolt 3 Dock, will be available within this quarter.

The Portégé X20W laptop will be available in two color variants: the pre-configured Slate Gray variant will be available soon at Microsoft Store and microsoftstore.com, while the Onyx Blue variant will be available later this month from Toshiba's web site.
