Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill's breakup created a buzz in the New Year after she confirmed her split with her 29-year-old rapper boyfriend. The "Anaconda" songstress made it clear that she is over Mill in her latest social media post.
Minaj posted her breakup announcement on the social media on Jan.5, Thursday, to let her fans know that she is back on the market. She confirmed her breakup with Mill and told her fans that she is focusing on her career. Safaree Samuels, Minaj's ex-boyfriend for more than decade quickly expressed his wish to reconcile with the Grammy nominee after hearing Minaj and Mill's breakup.
A representative for Samuels told TMZ that Samuels feels relieved that she already split with Mill. Aside from expressing Samuels' interest to rekindle the flame with Minaj, the representative echoed Samuels' thoughts that it is high time that she leave him because he has done nothing for her career.
The representative told the publication that Minaj only released a few singles, but not an album over the two years that Minaj and Mill were together. Samuels is reportedly keen on reaching out to Minaj after the news of Minaj and Mill's breakup came out.
Since Minaj announced her breakup with Mill, the "All Eyes on You" rapper threw shades on his ex-girlfriend via social media in a now-deleted post. Mill posted a photo of Minaj's shoes that she wore on the music video for Ciara's "I'm Out Track," a breakup song and captioned it with some lines that showed his bitter split with his then-girlfriend.
Rumors about Minaj and Mill's split sparked in Dec. 2016, after she posted a mysterious message on her social media using Beyonce's 2011 breakup ballad song "The Best Thing I Never Had," according to MIRROR.
Minaj and Mill started dating in 2015, a few months after she called it quits with Samuels. After months of dating, they were rumored engaged after she was seen wearing a huge diamond ring on her finger. There were also speculations that she was pregnant, which all turned to be just all rumors.
