Production for "Outlander" Season 3 is in full swing and the show has begun teasing fans with photos for the highly-awaited new season. There are rumblings that the third outing will deviate a bit from Diana Gabaldon's "Voyager" novel, but will nevertheless have the same elements that fans all love.
Of all the things that are coming up in "Outlander" Season 3, there are several things fans are already aching to see.
Jamie and Claire's reunion
The Season 2 finale was heartbreaking not just for Jamie and Claire, but for all viewers as well. Their separation, although necessary, was very bittersweet. The couple will reunite in "Outlander" Season 3 after being separated for 20 years. This long span of time will change both characters, but they will find themselves falling in love with each other again when they meet.
"I think both of them have probably held each other up on a pedestal for 20 years, so in many ways, they're going to have to destroy that image first before they can fall in love with the person right in front of them, and that's going to be really interesting," Caitriona Balfe tells Variety about what Jamie and Claire's reunion will be like.
Randall and Jamie's bloody duel
Fans already know that the Battle of Culloden will be a massive blood bath based on the exclusive photos released by Starz.
"Outlander" Season 3 will begin with the Battle of Culloden, Entertainment Weekly confirms. During the big battle, viewers will also see Randall and Jamie square off in a bloody duel. Their fight will be very dramatic as it is a culmination of Jamie's thirst for revenge against Randall. Executive producer Ronald Moore teased that the Battle of Culloden is easily one of the show's biggest set pieces.
Frank and Claire's reunion
As Claire travels through the stones and returns to her own time, she reunites with her husband Frank who's been searching and waiting for her for the longest time. Entertainment Weekly obtained an exclusive first-look at the couple's reunion-with a baby! The photo shows Claire giving birth to her daughter with Jamie, Brianna, and introduces her to Frank. Claire and Frank will raise Brianna together in the 20th-century.
Things won't be easy for Frank and Claire as they patch things up after having been separated for years. He will eventually come into terms with Claire, although he doesn't quite know what happened to her when she disappeared.
New places
Jamie and Claire will travel to the high seas in "Outlander" Season 3. It is said that the show will soon film in South Africa, and that pirates will be introduced in the next installment of the show.
