After introducing a new form of artificial intelligence, the back half of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 4 will focus on Life Model Decoys. The next half of the season will bring to light the robotic duplicates, the biggest threats to the agents when the series returns.

In the midseason finale, AIDA revealed her true colors when she snatched Agent May and replaced her with an identical LMD. Recently, Agent May actress Ming-Na Wen opened up about how her character is going to take this new development in her storyline.

In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actress admitted that she's distraught about the latest hurdles that life had thrown at Agent May. "I think she'll be a little pissed, don't you? And a little disappointed in herself for having been imprisoned," she said.

What happened to Agent May in the midseason finale was not the first time that she had to deal with a doppelganger. It can be recalled that AIDA was first introduced as an artificial intelligence before she was placed inside a robotic body known as LMD. This LMD was especially designed as a perfect replica of her human behavior, except that she was a hundred times smarter than the original one and can use her mathematical brain to calculate portals and gain access to spirit dimensions.

The turn of events revealed that the LMD had less than noble intentions, but Coulson and his team still had no idea that the Agent May they had been mingling with the whole time was not the real one but an LMD.  When the series returns, Ming-Na Wen will pull a double duty to play the real Agent May and the LMD May, according to Cinemablend.

Ming-Na Wen shared that when she was playing LMD May, it was not very different from playing the real Agent May, especially since the LMD May was programmed with the brain data of the original May. According to her, the real challenge lies on the viewers, who have to keep track of the things that are going on, identify who is who, and differentiate the LMD from the original May. "You could have twins that are identical, and yet you'll always find a little something that's a little different, so that's what I try to incorporate into it," she said.
