Only a week has passed in 2017 for the National Basketball Association and teams are changing in hierarchy game after game. The Cleveland Cavaliers have bolstered their squad by adding veteran sharpshooter Kyle Korver while other teams are already making moves to solidify their rosters. Here are the top five NBA teams heading into the NBA trade deadline in February:

1. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs are falling in love with veteran players who can knock down shots from deep in Channing Frye, Richard Jefferson, and recently, Kyle Korver. Cleveland is coping with the three-point frenzy in the league and behind the Big Three of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, the Cavaliers are touted to play in their third straight finals appearance.

2. San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs are good in finding diamonds in the rough and they recently found one in Davis Bertans. Bertans showed why the Spurs are the most successful NBA team in the last two decades by dropping 21 points on just six shots against the Charlotte Hornetts on Sunday. San Antonio is undefeated in three games in 2017 and it is just 1.5 games behind league-leading Golden State Warriors.

3. Houston Rockets

James Harden is billed to be the NBA's next Most Valuable Player and the Rockets are thriving alongside 'The Beard' with a 30-9 record. Houston is the team that has made the most three-pointers in the league and they are looking to add another sniper in Mike Dunleavy, SB Nation's The Dream Shake reported. Expect more three-point bombs from the Rockets in the months to come.

4. Golden State Warriors

The Warriors slid here because of blowing 24-point lead against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. They are still expected to represent the Western Conference in the NBA finals and Draymond Green is happy that they lost against the Grizzlies, Bleacher Report reported. According to Green, teams make corrections when they lose and learning things is a part of reaching their goals of winning the championship.

5. Boston Celtics

The Celtics are 3-0 at the start of the year and they are one of the darkhorses in the East touted to take down the Cavaliers. Isaiah Thomas is not just the best NBA guard under six feet but one of the best guards in the NBA per se and his emergence as an unstoppable offensive force is benefiting Beantown. Also, Marcus Smart showed he is not just a defensive menace by dropping 22 points and six assists against the Pelicans on Sunday.
