Novak Djokovic will try to retain his Australian Open title this year against tough opponents. His Doha victory sets a momentum for him to outplay tough competitors, including recently outplayed Andy Murray, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
It is no secret that momentum plays a huge impact of over a player's success. That is why with the recent win of Novak over Murray for the Doha title few days back, some fans are already manifesting their favor towards the Serbian professional tennis player as the potential victor of the upcoming Australian Open 2017.
However, the road to success may not be easy for Djokovic, for other players are also aiming to create a significant opening this year. Two heavyweights, Federer and Nadal, could be faced by Djokovic in the tournament depending on the draw.
Moreover, Djokovic would have to be prepared for the hungry heart of one of his closest friends, Murray, as the British professional intends to win his first Australian Open title, according to Sky Sports. That is why with their knowledge of each other inside and outside the court, there is no telling how Djokovic will fare against Murray this Australian Open 2017.
Despite the potential threat of other opponents in the upcoming tournament, Djokovic remains positive about the potential outcome. His previous encounters with familiar foes and the defeats he suffered in 2016 taught him new lessons, which could be useful in the upcoming Australian Open tournament.
"I felt like the second six months of the year were very valuable because I was always saying that you can learn a lot more from your lost tennis matches," Baseline quoted Djokovic as saying. "I definitely don't see it as an unsuccessful year. I don't see it as a crisis. I don't see it as any of that."
