Contending teams SS Lazio (11-4-4, 37 points) and Atalanta BC (11-6-2, 35 points) are both looking to further climb up the standings of the 2016-2017 Serie season as they square off at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome on Jan. 15, Sunday.

Lazio has been inconsistent in the past few rounds with two losses in their last five matches. The team is still in the fourth spot of the league table, though, only a point behind third-running team Napoli and eight points below defending champions and current league leaders Juventus.
Coming off a crushing loss to Inter Milan in the previous round, I Biancocelesti bounced back last Sunday to nip newly-promoted side Crotone, 1-0, also at the Stadio Olimpico, via SkySports.
Lazio was not yet fully recovered from their embarrassing defeat to Inter when the match started as head coach Simone Inzaghi's boys failed to find the back of the net despite a lot of chances on goal.
The game looked headed to a goalless tie as time slowly ticked away, but Italian striker Ciro Immobile was able to find the game-winner in the 90th minute with a brilliant individual move from the center of the box.
Immobile was booked a yellow card for excessive celebration afterward but the goal proved to be enough to give the win to his side.
Meanwhile, Atalanta is streaking with three consecutive unbeaten performances. They are now in the sixth spot of the league table, two points below Lazio in the standings.
La Dea romped middling squad Chievo, 4-1, on the road at the Marc'Antonio Bentegodi Stadium also last Sunday for their second straight victory, as per The Guardian.
Argentine winger Alejandro Gomez opened the scoring for head coach Gian Piero Gasperini's squad with a brace in the fourth and 22nd minutes while teammate Andrea Conti made it a 3-0 count in the 42nd.
Chievo scored a consolation goal in the 62nd minute courtesy of forward Sergio Pellissier before Atalanta midfielder Remo Freuler sealed the win in the 69th, completing his team's four-goal haul.
