"Halo Wars 2" is set to launch for both PC and Xbox One this February and developer 343 Industries has partnered with THQ Nordic to release physical copies of the game. There will be a Standard Edition as well as an Ultimate Edition of the RTS title.

"Being able to deliver such a big franchise to RTS and 'Halo' fans alike, the opportunity to buy and own this game in a beautiful physical shape is something we appreciate a lot," THQ Nordic exclaimed in an official statement, Gamespot quoted.

Microsoft and THQ Nordic have worked together before. They previously collaborated for the Definitive Edition of "Ori and the Blind Forest" and the Timeless Collector's Edition of "Quantum Break."

The Standard Edition will cost $59.99 and it will contain a main copy of the game. This version, along with the Xbox One port, will release on Feb. 21. It should be noted that the game is available both digitally and physically for Xbox One.

The Ultimate Edition will contain the main game, the Season Pass as well as a special key that will allow consumers to play the game four days early, Dual Shockers reported. The Ultimate Edition will release on Feb. 17 and will cost $79.99.

It will also contain a copy of "Halo Wars: The Definitive Edition," an enhanced version of the first game in the series. It originally released in 2009 for the Xbox 360 and focused on the events that took place on the planet Harvest, roughly two decades before the events of "Halo: Combat Evolved."

Activating the game also requires players to be online at least once. This is a one-time requirement and the game can then be played offline afterwards.

"Halo Wars 2" is also stated to be included in the Xbox Play Anywhere program. This means players on Windows 10 PC can still access their save files on an Xbox One copy of the game to continue their progress and vice versa.
