Following the heartwarming finale of "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo," lead actor Nam Joo Hyuk shared his thoughts about the MBC show and thanked everyone for making it a success. In the show, he played a skilled swimmer Jung Joon-Hyung.

On Jan. 11, Wednesday, the 22-year-old actor sat down for an interview with the local media and talked about the coming-of-age sports drama and what he likes in a woman. He revealed that Lee Sung Kyung's character, Kim Bok Joo, is now his ideal type.

"Kim Bok Joo supported me during the swimming competition and is someone who stands by me to say many things that give me strength," All Kpop quoted Nam as saying. "I like a character like Bok Joo."

Nam then admitted he felt a little blue after the MBC drama finished filming. While he thought it was somewhat unfortunate that the viewership ratings remained at 5 percent, the actor stressed that their goal was to create a good project with fun memories.

The actor goes ahead to say that he received many messages from "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" fans letting him known that he is a boyfriend material. However, in reality, he is nothing like his sweet and playful character in the MBC show.

While the "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor wanted to maintain the cute aspect, he also has a great desire to show a more mature image in the future. He reiterated, "I want to show a more manly side [of myself]."

Though Nam is glad he met the entire cast and staff of the MBC drama, the Hallyu star is now ready to take a step forward. He is currently in negotiations to play the lead role in tvN's new drama tentatively titled "Bride of the Water God," The Kpop Herald reported.

If he accepts the offer, he will play a temperamental deity, The Water God, who takes the most delightful lady as his bride in exchange of rain. He is a child by day and an adult by night, with his powers being reduced in the presence of heat or daylight due to the curse cast by his first love.

"Bride of the Water God" will be directed by Kim Byung-Soo based on a script penned by Jung Yoon Jung. It will be a fully pre-produced drama and will be released sometime this year.
