The 2014 2D platforming game "Shovel Knight" will be released for the Nintendo Switch as well. It will have numerous updated features to offer an entirely new experience for players.
According to the official Yacht Club Games website, there will be two titles of "Shovel Knight" that will be released for the Nintendo Switch. "Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment" is a familiar title for the fans who played the game before, but "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove" will be an entirely new experience.
Thankfully, all the owners of the "Shovel Knight" game will own "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove" instead. The players who own it this way will continue getting the new planned free campaigns and features once the game is updated.
"Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope" will be the new name for the base game. Once it happens, players will now be presented with new options to buy each campaign as separate, standalone games for the PS4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.
Furthermore, the Body Swap mode for the "Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment" will be included for its campaign mode. The company assures its fans for the sprites and illustrations of the body-swapped versions of the main characters as its release draws nearer.
Additionally, the two player co-op will be released for all the console platforms. It is one of the most requested features by fans, the local two player co-op will now be coming as a free update to all the console and PC platforms, excluding the Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.
According to Dual Shockers, aside from these two features, additional content will also be released with the upcoming "King Knight" campaign as well as Battle Mode. The latter will match up to four players and fight one another in arenas. The feature is available to all platforms except the aforementioned 3DS and PS Vita.
"Shovel Knight" is now available for the PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS, and Amazon Fire TV. Here is the latest video for the game.
