With the inaugural WWE United Kingdom Champion soon to be crowned, reports suggest that international champions may soon be crowned from other parts of the world as the well. If rumors are to be believed then the region most likely to receive their own championship next is Asia.
For the longest time, the WWE has only had a single country-based title in the form of the United States championship. However, after observing steady growth in both the talent and the fandom present in other countries - in this case in the UK, in Asia, and in Latin America - they have decided to bring the best wrestlers from these regions to battle it out for a top prize in their highly respected promotion.
The growth of Japanese wrestling in Western markets has been a prime catalyst for the WWE investing in Asia, according to Sports Keeda. The WWE could even be taking it once step further by reportedly poaching Kenny Omega off of New Japan Pro Wrestling's superstars clutches once his contract expires. Even multi-time professional wrestling world champion John Cena has been hyping up Omega's rumored arrival to the WWE.
If all goes well then a Latin American WWE championship title may be up for grabs in the near future as well. WWE wrestlers from this region have proven to be crowd favorites with their exciting, agile, and often high-flying styles. This goes to show that it would be a good move if ever the WWE were to invest in professional wrestlers from here.
Aside from developing and promoting wrestlers from other parts of the world, the WWE has some local recruits, which have been steadily improving in their new "Performance Center" in Orlando, Florida. Fans should expect to see big things coming from the wrestlers who train here.
New faces in this center include Julie Real (Julia Ho), Mary Kate Glidewell (Andrea), Dori Prange (Heidi Lovelace), Kimberly Frankele (Kimber Lee), Zhao Xia, Yifeng, and Big Boa, according to the Wrestling Inc. There are also some more established names there such as Tajiri, Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari, Mustafa Ali, Tony Nese, and Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero).
