"Hearthstone" players should be ready for incoming nerfs with the next balance path. Developers are looking to balance out the Pirate decks because of the its population.

There are a lot of decks available in "Hearthstone" but some players seem to be taking advantage of more popular ones. Players can choose to create their own decks but there are guides to setup different kinds which often leads to similar ones being used all throughout.

"Hearthstone" game designer Dean Ayala said in a livestreamed Q&A on Twitch TV that they may start to nerf Pirate cards because of the increasing number of players using such decks. It was revealed that nerfs come because of the increased number of deck population and not actually the win rate.

For instance, the developers do not really care whether a certain deck has a high win rate percentage. In fact, they revealed that it is rare that a deck exceeds 55 percent. However, there is an issue when a deck's population in the game is higher than usual.

Ayala said that the current highest win rate for a deck in "Hearthstone" is just 52 percent. They did not specify which deck it was but they are looking to nerf Pirate cards.

"Hearthstone" players may also see huge changes in the Arena mode as Blizzard is planning to improve the matchmaking and progression, Venture Beat reported. They did not disclose the changes that will be present in the next balance patch which is slated for March.

Another interesting bit in the Q&A is that there might be a chance that Wild cards will reappear in Standard mode. Ayala noted that they are still considering reprinting the Wild cards with a new set.

Players will just have to wait for the next Standard rotation to see the changes. The upcoming "Hearthstone" balance patch is expected to come around in the following months.
