"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" still continues to be the biggest game in the Nintendo Switch's launch lineup. With this, the game performs much better in the new console compared to its Wii U version overall.

In an interview with IGN, "Zelda" Producer Eiji Aonuma confirmed that the upcoming game will have its peak performance on the new Nintendo Switch. Basically, its load times are much shorter while retaining a much better resolution when the game is played with the use of the TV.

However, Aonuma points out that regardless of the platform, the experience as a whole will be more or less the same. He even went so far as to say that the framerates will be consistent when compared.

The reason behind the game's reduced load times is the fact that the Switch will use cards instead of discs. What this means is that the data can be pulled much faster, hence resulting to a faster gaming experience overall.

In the same interview,  "The Legend of Zelda" creator Shigeru Miyamoto added that despite the scale of landscape as well as the massive processing will not affect the gameplay. He said that it will be seamless and as such will be pretty much the same once played on both the Switch and the Wii U.

According to VG 24/7, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will specifically run at 900p when the Switch is docked and the game is played on the TV screen. The game's quality drops to a 720p resolution when undocked and played in portable mode.

The game's resolution drop could be the possible reason behind the consistent 30fps rate of the game regardless of the mode. The only time a dip can be experienced is during very heavy alpha and post-processing effect situations. Framerate dips can also be experienced due to streaming issues, but it is infrequent.

"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" be released on March 3 for the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U. Here is the trailer of the game at the Nintendo Switch presentation event.
