Girls Generation member Taeyeon's performance at the 31st Golden Disc Awards was interrupted by some technical issues on Jan. 13, Friday. The event organizers and staff members have now issued an apology to the idol for the error.

The artist made her entry from the back of the stage as rehearsed, but due to some sort of confusion with the staff members, she was unable to wear her earpiece. Instead, Taeyeon walked on to the stage with the audio equipment hanging over the side of her arm and put on the earpiece during the instrumental pause of the song.

Being the true professional that she is, the idol seemed unfazed by the incident and slayed her performance at the event as she belted out her emotional ballad, "Rain." While some fans applauded her professionalism and the manner in which he handled the situation, some felt bad that she had to endure that.

The staff members at the awards ceremony have now apologized to Taeyeon via an official statement obtained by Soompi.  They admitting having issues with the audio during Taeyeon's performanceand having made a mistake about the path she would take to go on stage and she ended up going on stage without her earpiece equipped.

"We apologize to Taeyeon and her fans," the staff members added. "We are sorry that she couldn't give the perfect performance she had shown us at the rehearsal."

Taeyeon seems to be grabbing media attention for all the wrong reasons recently. Previously, the singer's collaboration with American rapper Wiz Khalifa at the 2016 MAMA became the subject of controversy after Taeyeon backed out of the performance minutes before the "See You Again" hitmaker went up on stage, according to All Kpop.

The rapper performed solo at the event, after which both artists went back and forth on social media as Khalifa claimed that the k-pop idol lied about her reasons for cancelling the performance. Check out Taeyeon's performance at the 31st Golden Disc Awards in the video below:
