The Android 7.0 Nougat update for Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has been halted in China as it contains plenty of bugs.

After the debacle of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, the South Korean company seems to have adopted a slower strategy to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones.

In the previous week, Samsung began roll out the official edition of Android N OS update for unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones. The official update was sent out after beta testing process that lasted for several weeks, The Android Soul reported.

However, the update that came with short changelog that added a new improved power saving mode as well as stability and performance improvements has been stopped in China. Instead of official update, Samsung has released a new beta of Android N with software version G9350ZCU2ZQA4 that weighs 213.3 MB. As far as the official update is concerned, it said to be rigged with bugs that has caused Samsung to stop its roll out.

There is no confirmation on whether the Android 7.0 Nougat update rolled out to users outside China also contain bugs. If users outside China who have received the official Android 7.0 Nougat update end up receiving beta edition of the software, it may be a sign that the official update contain bugs.

The news about Samsung stopping Android N update for S7 and S7 Edge have surfaced after other companies have also halted Nougat update roll out for their smartphones. It is said that in a hurry to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat quickly, OnePlus ended up sending out unfinished Nougat updates to OnePlus 3 and 3T users on Dec. 31. HTC too have halted the HTC 10 Android 7.0 Nougat due to bugs. Both the companies are expected to resume update roll out in few weeks.

Samsung is expected to make an official announcement on Jan. 23 on the real cause that resulted in Galaxy Note 7 explosions. It is rumored to announce Galaxy S8 smartphone in February or March. With busy schedule, the South Korean is hoping the issue is only restricted to a single country and it will be resolved soon, Phone Arena reported.
