"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 lead star Ellen Pompeo is rumored to have plans to leave the hit ABC series to make time for her role in the animated TV show, "Doc McStuffins."

According to People, Pompeo lent her voice to a stuffed cat named Willow, who visits Doc McStuffins' hospital after meeting a minor accident. In order to make sure that Willow is in tip-top shape, the doctor would have to subject her to CAT scan. Soon it is discovered that her whisker got stuck inside her cheek.

Pompeo's stint in "Doc McStuffins" is just for one episode so it is impossible that the actress will be leaving "Grey's Anatomy" at the end of Season 13. In fact, the series has just been renewed by ABC for Season 14 so more Meredith Grey storylines may be expected by fans.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, ABC president Channing Dungey said that she wants "Grey's Anatomy" to go on for as many seasons as possible. When asked what their plans are to make the upcoming seasons even more exciting, Dungey said that fans should definitely get what they want.

As of late, fans are clamoring for Meredith and Alex (Justin Chambers) to be involved with each other romantically. After Jo (Camilla Luddington) ended her relationship with Alex, fans thought that the latter will already be paired with Meredith. However, Meredith is hooking up with Nathan (Martin Henderson).

Dungey thinks that an Alex-Meredith storyline should be the focus of "Grey's Anatomy" in Season 14. After all, the two characters have been with the show since Season 1.

"When I have been looking at the fan feedback and reaction from this season, people are more interested than ever in the relationship between Meredith and Alex, and these are two characters that have been around since Season 1. But we are now experiencing them in a totally different way than we have before. That is just what the writers do so well; they continually peel back new layers of these characters that we get to expand and explore," she said.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will return to ABC on Jan. 26 at 8 p.m. EST.
