The new "God of War" game has been pretty quiet during the past months. However, it seems that a new useful piece of information has been revealed-the name of Kratos's son.

Recently, a Twitter user named Fabiano Banin revealed something about the audio file used for the original "God of War" trailer that hit more than 15 million views. The music download is offered by Sony Santa Monica--a small song composed by Bear McCreary. It was last played during the game's presentation at the E3 2016 event.

After Banin raised the question about the song's comment tag, the "God of War" director Cory Barlog confirmed in a reply that Kratos's son's name is Atreus. He even complimented Banin's efforts in discovering the name.

Despite the fact that the discovery is not the most groundbreaking of information, it is still a step in the right direction, according to WWGAfter all, it is still expected for the new "God of War" game to have more information as the year progresses.

"God of War" was largely based on the Greek Mythology, except the new one where Kratos will now take on the Norse Pantheon which consists of Thor, Loki, Odin, and more. Barlog confirmed earlier in Twitter that the upcoming game is a beginning of a new saga.

This is hardly a surprise, considering the time gap between the games. "God of War 3" was released back in 2010, and with the sequel getting a temporary release date sometime during late 2017, the span of time is more than enough for Sony Santa Monica to ensure that a new saga is ready, according to Segment Next.

The new "God of War" game is also going to be different from the previous entries, as it will deviate from the linear gameplay in terms of the need to kill enemies or solve puzzles before proceeding to a new area. There will be different endings to it, granting more freedom to players.

"God of War" will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive with an unconfirmed release date. Here is the game's trailer.
