Fans will get to see more of Gary after all. Just weeks before "Running Man" ends, it was learned that the 38-year-old rapper will pay another visit to the hit SBS variety show.

Gary, whose real name is Kang Hee-Gun, will be making a comeback to "Running Man" for a special episode that is set to air on Jan. 29. It is the first appearance that the rapper will make since he left the SBS variety show on October 2016.

"The episode is set to air 2 weeks later, so it's difficult for me to tell you the content of it, but it was kept very secret so everyone was surprised," Korean newsoutlet 10Asia, as cited by Korea Boo, quoted producer Lee Hwan Jin as saying before a group of local media. "It will be filled with secrets and surprises so please look forward to it."

Though not much has been said about Gary's appearance, it was learned that the rapper has already partaken in the filming for his special episode on Jan. 17, Wednesday. Lee Kwang Soo, Song Ji Hyo, Kim Jong Kook, Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin and HaHa apparently have no clue that the former member will return temporarily. Thus, the upcoming episode is a pleasant surprise for them as well.

While many are glad about it, some fans are hoping that all the current and former cast members would reunite for the final episode. The hit SBS variety show, which premiered on July 2010, is set to end its run sometime in February.

This comes after Song and Kim's sudden departure drew harsh criticism from the public. Following the controversy, the show's producers have apologized for the unfortunate way such member changes was taken care of, explaining that they failed to properly communicate their plans with them and that everything is just a misunderstanding, Soompi reported.
