Manchester City is struggling as of late with two losses in their last three matches. The team has dropped to the fifth spot of the league table because of their recent defeats. They are now only two points ahead of sixth-running squad and cross-city rivals Manchester United, but they still occupy the Europa League qualifying berth for next term.

In their most recent Premier League game last Sunday, the Citizens were stunned by another contending club, Everton FC, 0-4, on the road at the Goodison Park, as per SkySports.

It was the largest margin of defeat for head coach Pep Guardiola's side this season as the visitors' defense seemed to be having a day-off during the contest.

Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku opened the scoring in the 34th minute to help the Toffees take a 1-0 lead at the break. Three more goals in the second half, courtesy of Kevin Mirallas, Tom Davies, and Ademola Lookman in the 47th, 79th, and 90th+4 minutes respectively, completed the hosts' four-goal haul.

Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur extended their winning streak to six games to climb up to the second spot in the overall standings. The team is now only seven points behind current league leaders Chelsea and is tied on points with third-place club Liverpool but has a higher goal differential.

The Spurs are coming off a 4-0 crushing of contending team West Bromwich Albion at their home ground of White Hart Lane last Saturday, the Independent reported.

English striker Harry Kane unleashed a hat trick in the 12th, 77th, and 82nd minutes to lead head coach Mauricio Pochettino's side to the victory. An own goal by West Brom defender Gareth McAuley in the 26th minute finalized the hosts' four-goal masterpiece.
